About Adriana Zonari

Adriana Zonari was born in a family that used to breed race horses as a hobby in Brazil. The family has still the farm owned by them for over 70 years and today, Adriana´s mother and husband run an Anglo-Arabs breeding farm, producing horses for Show Jumping and Eventing, training and selling them.

Adriana was born in the middle of the horses, started riding at the age 10 and up to her 13´s she used to ride cross country and jumping, competing on the country side of Sao Paulo.

By the 13´s the school started to go harder and the parents decided it should be better if the rider would start riding in the club in Sao Paulo, instead. By them, encourage by a friend which was already a well known rider in Brazil, Adriana started riding dressage, as a ground work for the future as her wish was to be a show jumper.

The time was running and Adriana started competing in dressage and since than, never more left the modality. By the age 18, after finishing school the rider decided for an experience abroad and spent one year at Waterstock House Training Centre, in England under the Orientation of the well known Swedish Event (Fältavlan) trainer, Lars Sederholm. The idea was not specifically going to a dressage school, but to have an experience abroad.

Going back to Brazil, Adriana went to the University where for 4 years studied Advertising and Marketing, and during this years had experienced 8 months away from the horses, in a Pharmaceutical Company, where she did her trainee period for the exam at the University. The job was going good and the promotion about to come when she decided that horses were her life, and therefore her professional life would be envolved with them.

Adriana started teaching and training horses at the club in Sao Paulo and also in the country side, training Event riders, since she had one year experienced in England in Eventing. In short time, she became dressage trainer for the Brazilian Eventing team, and coach for the dressage children’s team.

Encouraged by one of her students which was willing to help, Adriana managed to buy one horse with a bit more experience and qualified as 4th place to the Pan American Games 2003. The place in the team was taken away but the willing to become a good rider and professional in the horse business had grown stronger. The student was the great supporter and sponsor and by contacting Jan Brink, Swedish Best Dressage rider and number 2 in the world ranking, the rider started going to Sweden for training and competitions.

Adriana Zonari has in 2007 established a company in Sweden after almost 4 yrs riding under the orientation of the most well known rider and number one in Sweden, Jan Brink, as well as Minna Telde (member of the Swedish team) and Richard White (English trainer, partner to Kyra Kyrklund ). In 2007 the rider started also taking part in the training of Conrad Schumacher, german trainer from Warendorf School.
